Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. My name is Jasmine, I'm 18 years old, and I am a revert. Before I formally reverted, I was researching Islam deeply for about 2 years and I tried to learn everything I could about it. However, I am falling short and I feel like I need someone in my life (a husband, of course) to help me along and keep me on the right path. In my heart, I am committed 100% to Allah, His Messenger, and Islam as a whole, but at home it's a different story. It's very difficult for me to pray because I'm in a family full of non-Muslims. However, if I get married I will not feel so alone and be able to practice Islam fully, as well as having a righteous spouse by my side, insha'Allah. I sometimes pray in secret, and I am still learning how to pray, but when I do pray, tears fall out of my eyes and I feel the stress fall with them. Becoming Muslim was the best decision I have ever made, because I have struggled with religion for the whole of my life, and I had yet to find a religion that actually made sense until I found out about Islam. After I started reading about Islam more deeply, I found out about proper hijab, and I immediately started wearing niqab. I originally started wearing it for anxiety type reasons, and I really don’t like to show my face. I like it because it keeps the glances of strange men and women off of me. I feel like I am covered properly for the sake of Allah, and that’s all that matters for me. One last thing for this paragraph is that I have a lot of body piercings. I have 12 ear piercings, a nose piercing, a bellybutton piercing, and an eyebrow piercing. I have gotten all of these piercings before I reverted to Islam and I am not sure if I will take them out or not. If you’re a man who can’t handle piercings at all, please do not message me. However, if you’re still interested and don’t like piercings, I will possibly negotiate about taking them out. I also have one tattoo from my past life that I would like to get covered up with something presentable, insha’Allah.

I am a student, but I don’t go to any sort of college just yet. I’m not sure that I want to further my education at the moment, but instead I’ve really considered that I would like to be a housewife. My mother was a housewife and a family-maker before she died (she passed away in 2016 of brain cancer), however she also worked many hard-labour type jobs. My father did the same as well. He has experience in spot-welding and cars, while my mother has experience in factory work. After she was unable to work, that’s when she became a housewife. As stated before, both of my parents and the rest of my family members are non-Muslims. I have one brother, but he doesn’t live with me. I don’t have any sisters.

I want to get married early because this is what the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم) advised for all Muslims. Truthfully, I am afraid of getting married, as is every other woman who has never been married before, but with the right man, I’m sure it will be easy. I feel the same way about children, but I’m sure that it will all fall into place just like Allah has planned.

In my free time, I’m on the computer a lot. Normally I listen to Islamic lectures, read books, and use social media (Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) . I admit that I am a bit of a social media fiend, but it’s more or less because I don’t have much to do around the house. I really like to clean, and I have to say that I clean a mean house, but I really like to be alone when I do it and not bothered by that many people. I also really like to learn languages. I’m currently learning Arabic, Russian, and Korean. I have some experience with Spanish, but it’s not exactly fluent. I really like to write and read poetry, but more often than not I read it because other people can summarize my feelings more than I can myself. I like cold weather and rainy climates, but I am also up for hot climates with an ocean and a beach nearby. I really like to watch movies; any kind of movie will fly with me as long as it’s not overly sexual or inappropriate. I’m really into fashion, but not into makeup. I’m always looking at new abayat and things like that, and like any woman, I love shopping!

I dislike overly rude or judgmental people, especially when it comes to Islam. I hate it when people have no sense of humour. I’m always laughing and joking around, but I also know when to be serious. Honestly, there is not much that I dislike.

When it comes to entertaining myself, I really want to have fun. I love the idea of just going out to eat or taking a walk. Something simple! I don’t associate with a lot of people, and there are practically no Muslims around my area, so that leaves me friendless. However, when I get comfortable around a group of sisters, I turn into a social butterfly. Since I live with my dad and my aunt, I mostly hang out with them. (Sad life, I know, lol). As said before, I love shopping, but I also love going to the park, walking, catching butterflies and cooking. All of the things I do are very random. Yet another reason to get married is that I would be able to do something and not worry about being alone without a non-mahram.

I have never travelled outside of Michigan before, but I would love to travel someday. I hope that I will live in Dar-ul-Islam one day instead of Dar-ul-Kufr…I would like to go to Russia, France, Germany, Turkey, Syria, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait… everywhere!

I really can’t think of anything else without someone starting a conversation. I have never really been that good with talking about myself on the spot, lol. Feel free to message me, insha’Allah!
